Dementia Live-In Care

At Domus Live-In Care we support people with dementia to stay in their own homes, which are comfortable and familiar. There are different forms of dementia, the most common ones being Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia with Lewy Bodies and vascular dementia. We know how important it is for there to be as little disruption to routines and environment as possible for people with dementia, and the upheaval of moving to a residential care home can be a change too much. With Domus Live-In Care, our clients can stay in their own homes, with their belongings surrounding them, and continue to enjoy a much loved pet or garden while being looked after by one of our live-in carers.

We support people with dementia either on a permanent or respite basis.

If we are working with a client on a permanent basis, we will introduce a small team of live-in carers to a client and those live-in carers will rotate once every two or three weeks. This works for both the client and the live-in carers as the client always has a familiar person and the carer doesn’t work for such long periods, reducing any risk of becoming tired.

We also support our client and their families with respite live-in care. We know from working with our families that a main carer needs a break to go away and recharge their own batteries. We can provide a live-in carer to stay with the person with dementia while their usual carer takes a well-deserved rest. We can either do that as a one off, or as a regular, repeat service.

Testimonials

Thank you to you all for your help and expertise in arranging care for my parents over the last two years which enabled them both to stay at home as they wished. You never let me down and I should be happy to recommend you to any prospective clients.
