Stroke Live-In Care

The emotional and physical after effects of a stroke are different for everyone. A stroke can create a variety of challenges and a person who has experienced one may need extra help with day to day activities. At Domus Live-In Care our live-in carers are here to support our clients to adapt and adjust as they recover from their stroke. This might be for a short period or as a longer term solution, but either way we can help.

Our live-in carers will help with medication, cooking, housework and, of course, reassurance and companionship. We are very happy to work alongside physiotherapists as well as speech and language therapists with any exercises they might have recommended to help with recovery.

We support people who have had a stroke either on a permanent or respite basis.

If we are working with a client on a permanent basis, we will introduce a small team of live-in carers to a client and those live-in carers will rotate every two or three weeks. This means that the client will always have a familiar person who gets to know them and their routines and preferences.

We also support our clients and their families with respite live-in care. We know from working with our families that a main carer needs a break to go away and recharge their own batteries. We can provide a live-in carer to stay with the person who has been affected by a stroke while their usual carer takes a well-deserved treat. We can either do this as a one off, or as a regular repeat service.

Testimonials

Thank you to you all for your help and expertise in arranging care for my parents over the last two years which enabled them both to stay at home as they wished. You never let me down and I should be happy to recommend you to any prospective clients.
